Jimmie Rodgers, 75, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at his residence in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Born July 23, 1949 in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Marjorie Jean Moore. He was married to the late Patricia Gayle Brown Rodgers. Also predeceased by his devoted Grandmother, Annie Rodgers Morton who he affectionately called (Ma), a devoted Aunt Julia Graham and a brother he adored and referred to as his best friend Stanford Moore.

Survivors include two sons; Antonio Rodgers (Avis) of Danville, VA and Jamaal Rodgers or Marietta, VA; one daughter; Sherita Gregory of Lynchburg, VA; one stepdaughter Sherry Whittle of Danville, VA; six sisters; Janice Logan (Orlando), Devoted-Diane Walker (Randy), Gloria Moore and Angela James of Danville, VA, Sandra Mitchell of Hillsboro, NC, and Sharon Hairston of New York; Five brothers; Larry Moore (Brenda), Gary Moore, James Morris, and Van Gibson all of Danville, VA, and Cazzie Moore (Marion) of Durham, NC.; and devoted lifelong companion, Patricia Gregory. He is also survived by a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives.

Jimmie asked that there be no visitation nor a set up at the home and he asked instead if you’d like to honor him, to donate to the Alan B. Pearson Cancer Center and/or direct cards and flowers to Norris Funeral Services c/o Sherita Gregory.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, 3995 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, VA. with Elder James E. Royster of the Church of Jesus Christ, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 from 5-7:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
