Jmahl Antonio Stewart
JMahl Antonio Stewart, a loved husband, father, son, and accomplished professional, passed away on February 10 at the age of 50. He was a man of kindness, companionship, and dedication to his family, career, and community. JMahl is survived by his wife of 20 years, Katryn DeMeritt Stewart and was a proud father to Kayton, Mason, Kolbie, and Micah. He was the cherished son of Earnestine Stewart and was preceded in death by his father, Tony L. Stewart. His love and friendship extended to his large and close-knit family, including 18 nieces and nephews and 10 additional siblings through marriage. He was raised in Columbia, MD, and attended Oakland Mills High School. He loved to spend time by his outdoor fire pit, laugh with friends and family, and enjoy life to the fullest. JMahl was an employee of Virginia Tech's University Development office, with over 20 years of experience in recruitment, and was a respected leader in talent acquisition working across global organizations in IT recruitment, higher education hiring, and senior management placements. Throughout his career, he was known for his exceptional relationship-building skills. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Human Resources from Walden University. A service to honor and celebrate JMahl's life will be held on Monday, February 17 (11 a.m.) at Church on Main, 550 N. Main Street, Blacksburg, VA. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and pay tribute to a life well-lived. JMahl's warmth and friendship to those around him will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
