Joanne Miller

May 21, 1948 - May 5, 2025

JoAnne Miller of Carloover went to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of May 5th 2025, 16 days shy of her 77th birthday as she was born May 21st 1948 to Edward Scott and Bessie Jane Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years Irvin Miller of Carloover. Her three children, first born and chief worrier and warrior Melanie Ryder and husband Randall. Her favorite child Jamie Lowry and his wife Cathy. The baby, who also thinks he is the favorite, David Miller and his wife Andrea. Nine grandchildren Colby, Cameron and Cooper Lowry, Caitlin Shuping, Dylan Ryder and Aislinn Ryder and Silas, Levi and Jadyn Miller who loved their Mawmaw very much. Three but soon-to-be four great grandchildren who loved their Maw Great. Alaina Seldomridge, Claire and Alex Shuping and Holden Lowry who will arrive sometime in August. Lina Bragg, her future granddaughter in law and adopted granddaughter Beverly Silver and son Kyle who she loved to get visits from. She is also survived by two very loving and caring sisters, Dot Lowry and husband Curtis of Carloover and Arlene Peery and husband Wayne of Peery Hollow along with several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a few great great nieces and nephews. Most importantly she is survived by her loving companion Gizmo the 22 pound cat that is always losing weight according to her.
She loved to call everybody she could to sing happy birthday to them and FaceTimeing with the great grandchildren anytime she could or whenever she sat her phone down and accidentally touched the button. Family was everything to her. She was also a very avid bowler back in the day, had her own purple ball, and spent a lot of time at the bowling alley.
She was preceeded in death by a sister, Rose Marie Swearengin and a brother, Eddie Clark Smith along with a couple of special cousins that treated her like a sister, Tommy and Paul Smith.
According to her wishes, her body will be cremated. The family will receive friends at her residence, 209 Carloover Village Dr. Saturday May 10th from 1:00 to 4:00 in celebration of her life. Her ashes will be buried between her mother and father at Union Chapel Cemetery at a later date when Pastor Donald Lee Altizer has recovered from his heart surgery.
