JoAnne Roop Simmons, 85, of Roanoke passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024. She is a daughter of the late Harvey and Lois Roop. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Simmons. Surviving are her daughters, Susan VanDyke (Bobby) and Brenda Simmons.The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Lotz Funeral Home, 305 E. Washington Ave., Vinton, Virginia. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Mountain View Cemetery, 1401 Mountain View Road, Vinton with Reverend Juan E. Barr officiating.
