Jody Gale Beuther
The Heart of the family, Jody Gale Beuther, known to many as Granny or Ma, went home to Jesus on August 25, 2025, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She passed away suddenly in the ICU at 67 years old.
Born on October 24, 1957, Jody began her life in New York where she spent 20 years surrounded by her siblings who cherished her. In 1977, Jody moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where she began planting her seed and spreading light and love to those around her.
She had a heart as big as her smile, and dedicated her life to others. Whether it was taking care of her grandchildren or making a stranger a cup of coffee, she always put the needs of others first, offering kindness, compassion, and a listening ear to everyone she met.
Her devotion and unconditional love were felt by all who knew her. Jody’s resilience and strength will forever be remembered by her friends, family, and everyone who had the chance to meet her.
She is reunited in heaven with her loving Mother Grace Lehner, her father, George Vermilye, and her siblings, John Anastacia, Frankie Parente, Eddie Parente, Debbie McAdams. She was source of strength for her surviving siblings, Joseph Mills, Dewayne Sinnett, Dawn Lazzaro, Renee Frick, Melanie Sinnett, and Salese Mills. Jody’s love for her family knew no bounds and she carried the memory of her departed loved ones in her heart always.
She is survived by a large and loving family, including her Better Half, Chris Abbott, her children Jayson Vermilye, Jetanna Beuther, Jillian Beuther, Jazmine Beuther, and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who were blessed to know her unwavering love and kindness. She will always be remembered as a pillar of strength and affection within the family.
She is at peace with the Lord, and her memory will live on forever in our hearts.
A visitation for Jody will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5731 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, VA 24012. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 29, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, with the burial to follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
