Joe M. Cook

Joe M. Cook, 88, of Salem went to be with Jesus while surrounded by his family at home on December 9, 2022.

A native of Virginia he was the husband of 68 years to Onice C. Cook, who survives, and the son of Claude Cook and Mandy McCoy Cook, both deceased. He was a Korean War Veteran and served his country proudly. Joe founded Cook Siding and Window Company and through his outstanding work ethic and attention to detail he made it a business that took care of three generations. He was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church. He was a very generous man and was always ready to lend a helping hand.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his son, Kyle Cook and wife Ann; two daughters, Teresa Stanley and husband Curt and Pam Davis; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow in the chapel of Lotz Funeral Home in Salem at 2:00 pm with Rev. Greg Moser officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Sherwood Memorial Park.
