Joelen Snell Cowan Brown

Mrs. Joelen Snell Cowan Brown, born on January 26, 1942, passed away on February 15, 2024, at her home in Blacksburg, Virginia, at the age of eighty-two. She is survived by her husband, Robert Moren Brown Sr.; her two sons, Robert Moren Brown Jr. and Paul Tolliver Brown; and her sister, Anne Elizabeth Cowan. Joelen was a devoted wife and mother who was loved dearly and will be sorely missed. She is remembered too by her younger son's wife and son, Jennifer Martinsen and Louis Brown; by her husband's older brother and his wife, Wallace and Joyce Brown; his younger brother and his wife, Watson and Jackie Brown; and his nieces and nephews, Cheryl Guyton, Kelli Bryson, Daryl Maulden, and Michael Woodall; and by her sister's son, Wyatt Sweat. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2024, in the Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley. The family will receive friends following the service at their home.
