John Edward Sibilia

John Edward Sibilia, 53, of Longs, SC died Sunday, January 1, 2023.

Born in Toms River, NJ on May 21, 1969, the son of the late Albert Mario Sibilia and the late Lucy Amelia Sibilia.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Sibilia and his brothers Wayne Sibilia and his wife Cindy, Mark Sibilia and his partner Josephine, David Sibilia and his wife Tammy and Jeff Sibilia; his nieces and nephews; Wayne, Amanda, Jessica, Hailey, Mary Rose, Mark James, Molly Sibilia; seven great nieces and nephews; and numerous cousins and friends of New Jersey. He is also survived by his second family, father-in law, Buddy R Thompson, Sr and mother- in- law, Charlene R Thompson, sister-in law, Cindy Thompson; nephews, Buddy R. Thompson, III and Cory Thompson; and his much-loved Pomeranians, Jethro, Bella and Myrtle.

John was a graduate of Georgian Court College of Lakewood, New Jersey with a degree in elementary education. He specialized in teaching students with special needs for most of his teaching career. Since 2005 he had been teaching at Myrtle Beach Middle School. John loved each and every one of his students. He wanted each one of them to excel to their fullest potential. Nothing made him prouder then to see one of his former students and learn that they had accomplished their educational and career goals.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Doug Lee will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 11am at Rocks Baptist Church, Pamplin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St Frances Animal Center of Georgetown SC or the Horry County Special Olympics.
