John Green Gibson

John Green Gibson, age 68, of Ringgold, Virginia passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2024, in Pelham, NC. He was born in Pittsylvania County, VA, and lived in Ringgold, VA. John was the son of the late Bernard Paul Gibson, Sr. and the late Janie Brumfield Gibson. He was married to Lisa Fry Gibson, who survives, of the residence.

John was of the Baptist faith and worked as a machine adjustor for a tobacco processor for many years. He graduated from Dan River High School in 1974. John was an avid outdoorsman who loved his family and friends dearly.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his daughter, Brandy Gibson Payne of Danville; stepson, Michael Ray Alfred (Ruth Lee Alfred) of North Carolina; sisters, Vivian Ranson, Page May, Mary Lee Gibson, and Pam Schmidt; brothers, Paul Gibson and Michael Gibson, as well as his granddaughter, Erin Janie Payne, and step grandsons, Caleb Micah Alfred, and Jacob Gabriel Alfred.

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, VA, officiated by Pastor Wayne Aaron. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
