John Lee Carter

John Lee Carter, 65, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at his home. He was born September 30, 1957, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, to the late John David Carter and the late Elizabeth Fitzgerald Fuller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sherelle Carter. He was a member of Bethel Way Church of Christ, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved playing cards, antique cars, and making others laugh. John is survived by a daughter, Angela Dixon; sister, Betty Hairston; brother, Raymond Mack Carter; and grandchildren, Jasmine Nicole Dixon, Armani Michelle Dixon, Kenneth Kenard Apple, Ethan O’Ryan Dixon and Octavia Nichole Dixon; and other loving nephews, nieces and other family members and friends. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at 12:00 Noon at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Bishop John Campbell officiating.
