John Mark Rutledge

John Mark Rutledge passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 19, 2024, at Sovah Health, Danville, VA. Mr. Rutledge was born in Danville, VA on April 2, 1958, the son of the late Robert John Rutledge, Jr. and the late Winifred Hunt Rutledge.John will be truly missed by all who knew him. He spent his entire life in Danville and Pittlylvania County and retired from Goodyear Tire of Danville with 34 years of service to the company.He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Robin Reece Rutledge, his son, Mark Reece Rutledge, and his daughter Margaret (Maggie) Rutledge. He is also survived by his sister, Ann Rutledge Heltemes (Brad), his brother Dennis Joseph Rutledge (Cathy), and a brother-in-law, John Victor Reece (Kathy). Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Cindy Rutledge and many loving nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brother, Robert John Rutledge, III.Should you wish to honor the life and memory of John, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 3:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2-3:00pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel.
