John Mitchell Gayle

John Mitchell Gayle, Jr., 60, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, at SOVAH Health of Martinsville. He was born April 17, 1963 in Martinsville, to the late John Mitchell Gayle, Sr. and Jo Ann Barrow Gayle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Murray Wayne Gayle.He had been employed in construction work, and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing and shooting pool. He loved attending Calvary Hill Pentecostal Church, and spending time with his family. He was a great husband, father and brother.John is survived by his wife, Donna Kay Gayle; sons, John Mitchell Gayle, III, Ryland Hunter Gayle and Dakota Ray Craig; daughter, Amanda Shay Craig; several grandchildren; and sister, Kimberly Lynne Ray.The funeral will be Friday, September 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM, at Wright Funeral Service Chapel, with Pastor Benny Dodson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.Wright Funeral Service and Crematory is serving the family.
