John Steele Bayse, 80, passed away on February 2, 2026. He was born on June 27, 1945.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Steele Bayse and Mildred Pendleton Bayse.
He is survived by his sister, Margaret Bayse Wright and her husband, Al; his nephew, James Whiteside and wife Brenda; his great-nephew, Jacob; and his great-niece, Jenny and husband Matt.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 6, at 11:00 a.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem, with a chapel service following. Burial will take place at Sherwood Memorial Park.
