John Wayne Lawless

John Wayne Lawless, 67, of Bassett, Virginia, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024. He was born August 24, 1956, in Patrick County, Virginia, to the late Alex Green Lawless and Shelby Goad Lawless.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Ester Lawless.John was of the Baptist faith and was a kindhearted person that would help others in need before meeting his own needs. He was known to have a stubborn streak, walked everywhere, including to Roanoke and back. He loved being with his family during family reunions and other special occasions.He is survived by sons, Christopher (Lawless) Eames and Don Lawless; sister, Barbara Foley (Jerry); brothers, Randall Lawless and Curtis Lawless.Private services will be held at a later date.Wright Funeral Service & Crematory is serving the family.
