Johnny Kitt

On March 25, 2025, Johnny Ray Kitt, age 81, passed away peacefully at home in Chesterfield County, Virginia, in the company of his loving family and friends. Born July 31, 1943 in Low Moor, Virginia to the late Norville Bishop Kitt and Eula Mae Bush Kitt, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sue McBride Kitt; a son, John David Kitt; a sister, Alice Marshall; and six brothers, Preston, Melvin, Vernon, Henry, James and Leonard. Johnny is survived by two daughters, Robin Kitt of Northern Virginia and Maggie Kitt of Chesterfield, a grandson, Dylan John Ohland Kitt, a dear friend, Baseer Chardiwal and a host of other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12 Noon in Sunrise Cemetery, Low Moor with Mr. Chris Fisher officiating. Interment will immediately follow. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.

A special thank you is extended to the staff of Hospice of Virginia for their dedicated and unwavering care and support during his final days. The family is also grateful to all the other wonderful caregivers of McGuire Veterans Hospital who were involved in his care over the years.
