Johnny Wayne Cox

Johnny Wayne Cox, 58, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024, at his residence. He was born on February 25, 1965, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Wiley and Opaline Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Cox Foster.

Johnny is survived by his four children, Lee Cox of Danville, Virginia; Calie Cox of Bassett, Virginia; Amy Cox of Collinsville, Virginia; and Jackie Fields of Pennsylvania; two brothers, James David Burnette, and Ronnie Cox; four sisters, Rebecca Thacker, Carolyn Beal, Cindy Spence, and Patrica Cox; several grandkids; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Bassett Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Donald Kendrick officiating.
