Jonathan Murray Buck

Jonathan Murray Buck, 96, of Wirtz, Virginia, joined his loving wife of 67 years, Betty Jean Scruggs Buck, in the presence of their Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2025. “Jack” was born on March 23, 1928, in Roanoke County, Virginia, to the late Murray Yonce and Elsie Mae Murdock Buck.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Kathy Macfarlane and husband, Douglas, Karen Webster, and Debra Koch and husband, Richard Koch; grandchildren, Paula Stecker, Stephanie Flores, D.J. Webster, Brian Webster, Christopher Lambert; great-grandchildren, Andrew Stecker, Hayley Stecker, Jonathan Flores, Dylan Webster, Jayden Webster, Addison Lambert, Ayson Webster, and Azelia Webster; nephews, James Buck, H.L. Greene, David Greene, and Michael Greene.

The family will welcome friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., in the Upper Parlor of John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Steve Pasley officiating. Interment with military honors immediately following in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Roanoke.
