Jordan Ross Pruett
Jordan Ross Pruett, 36, of Moneta, VA, passed away on April 27, 2024, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA, from a respiratory illness. Jordan was born on December 1, 1987, in Martinsville, VA to Jennifer Pruett Hollyfield and the late Barry Edward Pruett. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Betty Hall Pruett, and maternal grandfather, Esmond Arnold Terry. If you knew Jordan, you appreciated his ability to hold a room captive with his smile, jovial spirit, and contagious laugh. He had a generous heart, full of love, for his family, friends, and the Lord, traveling to Honduras on two mission trips. He elected to advocate for the underdog – the downtrodden, and placed other’s needs above his own. Jordan had the gift of gab from early on; he never met a stranger. He was innately humble by nature, funny, and stoically accepted adversity from an early age, fighting a rare childhood illness, and again, in death, by fighting a chronic respiratory illness.Jordan’s world revolved around his son, Kaden. He was a dedicated father whose smile was widened, and his laugh heartier just by being around Kaden. His allegiance to his mother, Jennifer, stepfather, Bart, brother, Jared, sister-by-choice, Erin, and second mama Lisa, never wavered throughout his life. Jordan gave all he had to those he loved. Jordan loved music, especially the piano, played church handbells, and bass in a praise and worship band during his teen years. Jordan would define his greatest contribution to life as his son Kaden, who he leaves behind to fill his shoes and carry on the Pruett name.Jordan is survived by his son, Kaden Ross Pruett, his mother and stepfather, Jennifer and Bart Hollyfield, grandfather, Donald Edward Pruett, grandmother, Sara Watts Terry, his brother, Jared Blake Pruett (Erica), sister-by-choice and loyal friend throughout his life, Erin Lynn Merricks, second mama Lisa Lancaster, stepbrothers and sisters Bart Hollyfield, Jr. (Meredith), Jennifer Rhea (Mike), Grace Hollyfield, and Calen Hollyfield.Visitation will be held at Stone Memorial Christian Church on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Stone Memorial Christian Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, with Ministers Tim Wood and Les Croft officiating.
