Joseph Miller

Mr. Joseph Miller, Sr., went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. He was born March 7, 1934, to the late Charlie Miller and the late Ethel Footman Miller.
Joseph was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. He served as Deacon, Trustee, in the Transportation Ministry, and had his Missionary Certificate. Joseph retired from Masonite Corporation.

He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne McCullen and Sherryl Ransom (Sherman); daughter-in-law, Jackie Miller; brothers, Theodore Miller and David Miller, Sr; stepsons, Michael Totten, Sr. (Jennifer), Charles Totten, and Tracey Totten (Beverly); Godsons, Justin Wilson and Rev. Moses Price; devoted friend, Jerretta Wilson; special niece, Darlise Carter; a “host” of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-laws, Lunia Haley and Queen Morrison (Thomas).

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Hattie Canada Miller; son, Joseph Miller, Jr; first wife, Maggie Fowler Miller; stepdaughter, Deborah Ann Page; brother-in-law, Joseph Canda; sisters, Ethel Miller and Mildred Miller; and brothers, Charles Miller, Nathaniel Miller, and George Miller.

A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Trinity Baptist Church, 399 South Main St., Danville, VA with Dr. William Dixon, Rev. Terry Echols, Deacon Kearns Travis, and Deacon David Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
