Joseph Thomas Morris

Joseph Thomas Morris, 85, of Amherst, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his residence.

Born on May 17, 1939, in Emporia, he was the son of the late Willie and Annie Morris. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Joseph Morris; two brothers, James Morris and Howard Morris; and a sister, Louise Parker.

He was a jack of all trades and loved working on things. As a matter of fact, he probably fixed a television for everyone he knew. He was a great friend and very loyal to those he loved. He enjoyed spending time outdoors in the woods being surrounded by nature and hiking. He enjoyed spending time in the kitchen and was known for his signature lasagna. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy and retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years of service.

He is survived by his son, Roger David Morris (Shirley); his daughter, Karen Bomar; grandchildren, Carin Najjar, Karen Capps (Jeremy), Kris Morris, Brittany McCann; and six great grandchildren, Salina, Elijah, Brynlee, Brayden, Kylie and Alexis.
