Joy Marie Scott

My beautiful sister, Joy Scott, died peacefully at her living facility in Salem, VA. on Monday December 2.  Joy was an energetic and busy lady.  She was a Globe Guilder at the Globe Theater in San Diego, CA and was on the board of the East County Performing Arts.  Joy was honored with the Dama de Distinction Award from the Club in Tijuana, Mexico when she served as President of the Small Business Association.  She was a Master in Bridge.

Joy shared her joy with parishioners, neighbors, and new friends when she moved to Roanoke, VA.  She volunteered at Center in the Square, was a Eucharistic Minister at the Basilica of Saint Andrew and was often the life of the party whether at Newcomers Club, water aerobics, traveling, church activities, or entertaining. A love of her life was BJ, her dog.

Joy is survived by her sisters Dottye (San Diego), Diane (Colorado Springs) and Patty Weingart-Diaz (San Diego) along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

There is now a new star in the sky with the word” JOY “on it.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. Andrew on Tuesday, Dec.10 at noon with interment in the Mausoleum immediately afterward.
