Joyce Faye Garrett Tate

Joyce Faye Garrett Tate, 68, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025, surrounded by her family. Joyce was born in Martinsville, VA on November 29, 1956 to the late Ruth Gauldin Garrett and the late Joseph Kermit Garrett. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Ronnie Vincent Tate Sr..

Joyce was of the Baptist Faith. She worked for many years as a Seamtress in the Textile industry previous to her retirement. She had a special love for children, especially her Grandchildren, whom she always put first.

In addition to her husband, Joyce is survived by her two grandchildren; Hannah Faye Tate and Marco Antonio Saldana; a brother; Joey Kermit Garrett and friend Susie of Virginia Beach, VA; two sisters; Linda Wilson and Vicky Hall; and her special friends; Sherry Ann Taylor, Ann Gamboa, and Joyce Merricks.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by a son; Ronnie V. Tate Jr.; and a brother; Phillip Scott Garrett.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1:00p.m. at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA with Minister Hershel Stone officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 6-7:00pm, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA.
