Juanita Catherine Wertz

Juanita C. Wertz, age 74 of Bedford County, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Juanita was born May 1, 1950 and was the daughter of Charles Archie Jones and Juanita Cora Gray. She was a graduate of Jefferson Senior High School, Class of 1968. After graduation Juanita worked at AT&T as a telephone operator, for the federal government, and at Kodak Photo Shops. She enjoyed camping with her family for many years.

Juanita married John L. Wertz, Jr., who survives of the home. She is also survived by son Thomas M. Wertz (Teresa) of Bedford County, and daughter April D. Wertz of Greensboro, NC, and grandchildren Tabitha Lynn Wertz and Gwendolynn Dawn Wertz. She is also survived by her sisters Barbara Sattlewhite, Sherry Kendrick (Wade), and Dianna Bazzrea (John).

Juanita was also survived by her dear friend, Ricky McDaniel and her precious pet Peanut. The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their precious care of Juanita during her final illness.

Visitation for Juanita is scheduled for Friday, April 18, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, 5731 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24012. Funeral service will follow Friday, April 18, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, 5731 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24012. Burial will be Friday, April 18, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Rd NW, Roanoke, Virginia 24012.
