Juanita Irby Council

Juanita Irby Council, 80, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024. She was born on July 5, 1943 in Danville, VA to the late Dottie Irby Wheatley and the late Freddie Divers. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Arthur Council. Mrs. Council was of the Christian Faith and worked for many years at Borokhim’s Oriental Rugs in Eden, NC previous to her retirement.Juanita is survived by two sons; Rufus Cobbs Jr. and wife Joyce of Danville, VA and Kenneth Cobbs and wife Linda of Philadelphia, PA; two sisters; Yvonne Wilson and Julie Irby; a brother; Ray Lee Irby; four grandchildren; Shannon Cobbs (Kim), Shawn Cobbs, Kenneth Cobbs Jr. and Lance Cobbs; five great grandchildren; Kalin, Noah, Alina, Joshua, and Caleb; a step-son; Arthur Council Jr.; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews that the family would like to thank.In addition to her parents and husband, Juanita was predeceased by a granddaughter; Shantelle Holmes and a brother; Charlie Glass.A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 1:00pm- 2:00pm at Norris Funeral Services, Mt.
