Juanita Kern

Juanita Faye Kelly Kern, age 73, of Covington, Virginia died Sunday, July 30, 2023 at LewisGale Hospital-Salem.

She was born August 10, 1949 to the late Howard Kelly and Carlos Kelly Downey. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant for the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation Center. She loved going to the beach, loved spending time with her grandchildren and loved her cat.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kern; a son-in-law, Donnie Crosier; sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Wayne Averill.

She is survived by a daughter, Lesley Crosier and a son, Rodney Broughman all of Covington; a sister, Mary Nicely of Clifton Forge; four grandchildren, Madison Crosier, Zachray Chase Sorrells, Kameron Broughman and Dalton Broughman; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM until 7:30PM at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
