Judy Lane Millner
Judy Lane Millner, 80, of Rustburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at her son’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on August 27, 1945, in Boone, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Albert C. Greene and Alice I. Greene.
Judy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Bobby G. Millner, her daughter Lisa J. McBride, son-in-law Thomas E. McBride, and siblings Marvin Greene, Beulah Abbott, and Rosa Lee Hall.
A woman of quiet strength, Judy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether that be the peace of the countryside, the comfort of time spent with family, or the quiet moments spent watching TV. She had a heart that was devoted to caring for others, and in her younger years, she spent countless hours as a caregiver, nurturing those in need with tenderness and love.
Judy loved spending time with her siblings, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, finding joy in every moment spent with them. Her love for her family was endless, and she will be missed by all her loved ones.
Judy was also fortunate to be surrounded by the love and care of her daughter-in-law, Courtney, in her final days, for which the family is deeply grateful.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael C. Millner, Sr. and Albert K. Millner (Courtney); two sisters, Linda Baldwin and Freida Reynolds; three brothers, Lester Greene, Randy Greene (Lisa), and Lloyd Greene; as well as ten grandchildren: Daniele Von Murphy, Edwin McBride (Anna), Savannah Millner, Erica Millner, Tiffany Millner, Kirsten Millner, Keira Millner, Lilly Millner, Ryder Millner, and Pearl Millner. Judy is also survived by six great-grandchildren, and numerous special nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the compassionate nurses and staff of Lynchburg General Hospital and Centra Hospice of the Hills, whose care and support made Judy’s final days peaceful.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at Salem United Methodist Church, with Rev. Charles Schooler officiating. Burial will follow the service at the church cemetery.
