Julie Brady Brockenbrough

Julie Brady Brockenbrough of Martinsville, died on August 7, 2024. Born April 3, 1944, in Norfolk, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, B. Page Brockenbrough, her parents, J. Camden Brady and Thelma Smales Brady Foglesong; and one sister, Jeri Brady Barrow.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Marie B. Loftin and husband Jeff of Mooresville, NC, and Carrie B. Jones of Critz; one son, E. Ryan Brockenbrough of Martinsville; one brother, Prentis Brady and wife Elaine of Lyons, Colorado; one grandson, Jacob Loftin of Mooresville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Julie graduated from Drewry Mason High School in 1962. She was a hairstylist at Style City for several years and went on to retire from the local Wal-Mart with 20 years of service.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and Broad Street Christian Church where she enjoyed playing handbells and singing in the choir.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Wanda Johnson, LeeAnn Dalton, Visiting Angels, and Mountain Valley Hospice for the care and kindness shown during this time.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel. A graveside service will be on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, VA. Pastor Tim Hunt will officiate.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Martinsville S.P.C.A. at 132 Joseph Martin Hwy. Martinsville, VA. 24112, or a charity of the donator’s choice.
