Julie D. Johns
In loving memory of our cherished sister, Julie D. Johns “Tweety Bird,” 61, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2025. Julie passed away at Good Samaritan Hospice House in Roanoke after a short battle with colon cancer.
Born on April 15, 1963, in Gary, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Janet Johns.
Julie was known for her love of all animals and a #1 fan of her baseball team, “Cubbies”. She was always good with remembering people’s birthdays and would generously gift to a total stranger. She was a dedicated member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church.
Her warm personality, infectious smile and generous heart made her an instant favorite to all that knew her. Despite facing many challenges in life, Julie remained resilient and persevered through it all. She was a fighter until the end and her unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to us all. Though she had many struggles in life, she always laughed through the pain and had a heart of gold. She will be sadly missed by many.
She is survived by her sisters, brothers, nephews and nieces: Jessica Campbell (Gene Hall), Caleb and Morgan Stormer, Janette Johns (Randy Leitner), Erika Leitner, Jennifer and Ronald Domeracki, Dylan and Rachel Domeracki, JoAnn and Mark Bentley, Thomas and Nancy Johns, Veronica and David May Johns, Matthew and Jennifer Johns, Matthew Johns Jr., Nicholas and Morgan Johns; and Marley and Tenley Johns. She was a beloved friend to Marianna and Robert Bosta, Anne Scarletto, Joan Shook, Janice Carver, Clarita Withers, Kathy Seals, Patti Duggar, Belinda Davis and many of her friends from online gaming.
A memorial mass of the resurrection will be conducted on April 15, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church officiated by Father John Christian. Interment will immediately follow the service in the columbarium.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions in her name are asked to consider Lynchburg Humane Society, 1211 Old Graves Mill Road, Lynchburg VA 24502 or Colon Cancer Foundation, www.coloncancerfoundation.org.
We will miss her dearly but take comfort in the fact that she is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
