Katherine “Kat” Gilliam, 60, of Lexington passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Alls and Betty Akins, (Leon).
Surviving is her longtime partner, Terry McGowan; children, Kerri Altis (Larry), Kristi Gilliam, and Cameron Miller; grandchildren, Isabella, Miranda, and Darrell Altis, Rowan and Ryleigh Rose Beck; sisters, Jo Anna Harris, and Chris Bernard; and numerous nieces and nephews including Nikki McGowan.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or to the American Heart Association. A private celebration of Kat’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. (540)366-0707.
