Katherine Anderson Pinckard, age 88, of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at her residence surrounded by family. She is the daughter of the late James and Mattie Anderson. She is preceded in death by her daughter; Sandra Kendrick, four brothers; Paul Anderson, Fred Anderson (Lena), Radford Anderson (Ellen), Richard Anderson (Katie), sister; Barbara Jean Mitchell (Melvin), brother-in-law; Eugene Hodges, nephew; Ronnie Hodges and a great nephew; Shane Hodges. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Cordell Pinckard, son; Keith Pinckard , granddaughter; Katie Kendrick, brother; Tom Anderson (Nellie), great-grandchildren; Chase Ferguson, Liam and Leah Haynes, sister; Louise Hodges, special niece; Judy Arthur along with several other nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, special friends Troy Midkiff and Julia Brown. Katherine spent her life showering her family with love. She enjoyed cooking and made sure none left her house hungry. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and watching her great grandchildren grow. She was a member of Doe Run Christian Church. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers Edna Mayhorn and Cecil Woods as well as Carilion Hospice. A graveside service will be conducted at the Anderson Family Cemetery, 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022.
