Katherine Craig Rea

Katherine Craig Rea, 63, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024. She was born June 8, 1961, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Troy Edward Craig and Pearl Dodson Craig Gordy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Rea.

Katherine was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church. Rea, a dedicated and diligent public servant, served on the PSA board for nearly three decades as well as many years of employment with Jaycees providing donations for families in need.

Rea's legacy as a dedicated public servant will not be forgotten. Her contributions to Henry County, particularly her commitment to the community, will have a lasting impact.

She also found joy in waitressing at the Dutch Inn, seeing it as an opportunity to connect with and meet new people. For her, it was never about the money but about building fellowship. Above all her accomplishments and community success she treasured the time spent with her family and friends.

Katherine is survived by her uncle, Roy Dodson; her close friend, Vernon Nelson; and many cousins and other friends.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Roselawn Memorial Park with Pastor Dennis Wingate officiating.
