Katherine "Kathy" Ann Sydnor Lawless

Katherine “Kathy” Ann Sydnor Lawless, 69, Martinsville, Virginia passed away Saturday, February 15, 2025. She was born April 18, 1955, in Capitol Heights, Maryland to the late Robert Sydnor and Frances Tippit Harris.

Kathy was employed with Nationwide Insurance as a secretary. She dedicated her life to her family. She was a fine lady and a fabulous cook. Kathy liked the mountains, traveling and loved her grand dog, Roxie.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-five years, Michael “Mike” Lawless; daughter, Amanda Shoup (Tim); sons, Jason Lawless and Jonathan Lawless (Rylee); sisters, Kelly Sydnor and Becky Hardie; brother, Paul Scott; and grandchildren, Lex Shoup, Hayden Shoup, Warren Lawless, and Tyler Lawless.

The funeral will be held Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Chapel with Pastor Dewey Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Grove Christian Church Cemetery. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
