Katherine Rippy Lawless

Katherine Rippy Lawless, 69, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024.

Born on July 15, 1955, in Martinsville, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret Rippy.

Kathy is preceded in death by her infant brother, Lynwood Rakes; aunt Frances Hamm and her brother-in-law, Bennie Lawson

She was passionate about baseball, playing in several leagues throughout her life. She also cherished music, animals, and the time spent with her family, especially during the holidays.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 42 years, Michael Alan Lawless; two sisters, Linda R. Voorhees and Susan R. Lawson; her niece, Cindy R. Burns; and two great-nephews, Jesse Lee Burns (Heather Mullins) and Jordan Keith Burns.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, 109 Broad Street, Martinsville, Virginia, 24112, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with a funeral service starting at 12:00 PM. The Reverend Dr. James D. Harmon will officiate. A private burial will follow.
