Katherine Sechrist Mcmillian

Mrs. Katherine Sechrist McMillian, age 87, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Twelve Oaks Assisted Living in Mt. Airy. She was born on August 8, 1938 in Surry County to the late Luther and Mary Fulp Sechrist. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will surely be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Frances Tate (Carl Ray), Ann Fleenor (Don), Brenda Easter (Johnny); sons, Wade McMillian (Debbie), Arnold McMillian (Karen Hazelwood), Johnny McMillian (Pam); twelve grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Dennis Sechrist, and Luther Ray Sechrist; very special friend, Lala Warner; special pets, Coco, Peanut, and Rocky. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McMillian was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James John McMillian; son, Jimmy McMillian; daughter, Patricia McMillian; sisters, Mary Ruth Hiatt and Louise Easter; brothers, Jessie, and Frank Sechrist. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Mt. Airy with service conducted by Rev. Michael Combs and Rev. Johnny Easter. Burial will follow in Old Hollow Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday morning from 10:00 AM until the time for the service at the funeral home.
