Kathryn Beard McGhee

Kathryn “Kathy” Beard Durham McGhee81, of Troutville, Virginia passed away, Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Jerry C. Durham, who was the father of her children; also preceded in death by her second husband Harold McGhee; son Douglas Durham; parents Karl and Ruth Beard; as well as her faithful furry companion Oscar.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Debbie Hughes and her husband Kevin; son Steve Durham and wife Tammy; daughter-in-love Margee Durham and her friend Jim Pruitt; brother and sister in law Jerry and Juilda Beard; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the church for Kathy's funeral arrangements. Services will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2 p.m. at Vinton Church of the Brethren. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home Peters Creek Road Chapel. 540-366-0707.
