Kathy Elaine Hatton
Kathy Elaine Hatton, age 73, of Dry Fork, Virginia, passed away on February 24, 2026. She was born on July 30, 1952, in Dothan, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Jean Hatton, and her brother, Johnny Hatton.
Kathy is survived by her daughter, Kim, her son-in-law Shane, her grandson Bradley Haymes (Alexandra), her granddaughter Katelyn Chandler (Hotch), and her great grandchildren Charlie, Scout, Shiloh, and Ford, with one more great-grandson, Henry, due soon.
Kathy was known for her determination and independent nature, approaching life in her own way. She faced life with strength through both the good times and the hard ones. She loved the outdoors—fishing, yardwork, and even mowing the grass. She always had a love for animals. In her younger years, she enjoyed horseback riding, and she also bred cats and dogs for many years.
More than anything, she loved the Lord with all her heart, and that faith carried her through every season of her life. In the last few months of her life, Kathy resided at Chatham Rehab, where she fought hard and did her best to recover. During that time, there was also an opportunity for healing, reconnection, and peace—something her daughter will always be deeply thankful for.
In honoring Kathy’s wishes, no formal funeral or graveside service will be held. A celebration of life with family and close friends will be planned at a later date.
Norris Funeral Services, Chatham Chapel is serving the family.
