Kathy Gail Oakes

Kathy Gail Oakes, age 68 of Chatham, Virginia passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at SOVAH Health in Danville, Virginia. Ms. Oakes was born May 22, 1956 in Pittsylvania County to the late William Wyatt Oakes and the late Reva J’Nell Reynolds Oakes.

Kathy was of the Baptist faith and was retired from Bassett Walker in Chatham. She will always be remembered as a kind and loving sister, aunt, and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her sister, Patty Oakes Mace; her nephews, Chris Aaron and his wife Dawn, and Nathan Aaron and his wife Melissa; and her great-niece and great-nephews, Audrina, Christian, Carrington, and Cooper. 

In addition to her beloved Mom and Dad, she was also predeceased by her grandparents, Dave and Louise Oakes and Charlie Ward Reynolds and Macy Reynolds. 

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 18, 2025, 11:00 a.m. at the Reynolds Family Cemetery with Pastor Terry C. St. John officiating. The family will receive friends and family at the residence of her nephew, Chris and Dawn Aaron.
