Kathy Joy Carter Wilson

April 28, 1953 - October 17, 2024

Kathy Joy Carter Wilson, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at her home in Georgetown, Kentucky. Born to the late Lona Hensley Carter and Rev. Floyd Richard Carter on April 28, 1953 in Danville, Virginia, Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and faithful Christian. She was involved in several churches during her life since her father was a minister, but Westover Drive Church of God was her home congregation. Kathy loved serving and leading in the churches’ Children’s Ministries and was a generous giver to those in need. Her friends and family remember her as a wonderful human with a kind soul, a true lady. Kathy’s hobbies included doing crafts, making wreaths, and filling photo albums through her passionate photography. Another passionate hobby for Kathy was diving into the Word of God on a daily basis.

Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Rev. Ronald Wilson; her son, Rev. Ryan (Sarah) Wilson of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; her granddaughter, Lilly Faith Ruth Wilson; her sister, Donna Carter Adkins, her brother, Floyd Carter Jr., both of Danville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Becky Bryant of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 pm with Funeral Services following at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at River Oak Church of God, 120 River Oak Drive, Danville, Virginia 24541. Burial Services will be the following day at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at the Danville Memorial Gardens, 510 Church Avenue, Danville 24541. A Memorial Service for Kathy will be planned for a later date with Tucker, Yocum & Wilson Funeral Home, Georgetown, Kentucky.
