Kathy Smith Boitnott

Kathy Smith Boitnott, 71, of Roanoke went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 30, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Alice Smith; husband, Richard Boitnott; son, Jerry L. See, II and a sister, Kay Smith Seibert.

Kathy grew up in Strasburg, Virginia and was a 1971 graduate of Strasburg High School. She was a longtime employee of the Harris Animal Hospital. Her love for animals served her well in her job and she had the reputation of being able to handle even the toughest of their patients.

Surviving are her daughters, Sarah Fralin (Ricky), Shannon McClure (Darren); grandchildren, Abby Tuckwiller (Noah), Eric Fralin (fiancé Kayla), Patrick, Olivia, Derrick, Kendrick, Andrick, Maverick, Tauric, and Kinsley Fralin; Elizabeth Salo (Zack), Austin and Branden McClure; great grandsons, Elias Salo and another expected in January; sister, Barbara Smith Warner (Bill); and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 4, 2024 at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Simpson Funeral Home 5160 Peters Creek Road.540 366 0707
