Kenneth Dale Woodie

Kenneth Dale Woodie, 66, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Kenneth was born on July 28, 1959, in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Williamsburg, Virginia, in 1977. Throughout his working life, Kenneth held various positions before discovering his true passion with Toys “R” Us, where he served as a manager for many years, primarily in North Carolina. During that chapter of his life, he treasured time spent with his sons, sharing his love for fishing, camping, and canoeing.

After leaving Toys “R” Us, Kenneth returned to Roanoke and began a new career with Corrugated Container, where he remained until his retirement. His later years were spent enjoying a quieter life with his wife, Christine, and his beloved cats, Houdini and Lou.

Kenneth was deeply loved by his family and will be forever remembered for his devotion to those he cared for most. He now rests in peace with his Maker and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Christine Woodie of Roanoke, Virginia; his sons, Mitchell Sands (Kiki Sands) of Liberty, North Carolina, and Noah Woodie (Emily Woodie) of Greensboro, North Carolina; his stepdaughter, Brandy Jackson; his parents, Dora and Dale Woodie of Roanoke, Virginia; his sister, Linda Webb (Mike Webb) of Roanoke, Virginia; two sisters-in-law, Michelle Parzyck and Kimberly Johnson; and one brother-in-law, David Parzyck.

Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Ean Woodie, Adeline Sands, and Maggie Jackson; two nieces, Sharon Zimmerman and Traci Cole; and one nephew, Steven Sawyer.

A memorial service is tentatively scheduled to be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Villa Heights Baptist Church. A luncheon will be served following the service in the fellowship hall.

Kenneth will be loved and remembered always.
