Kenneth Dodd Herndon

Kenneth Dodd Herndon, 70, passed away peacefully at his residence on December 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Danville, VA on November 29, 1954 to Mrs. Barbara Coleman Herndon and the late Dodd Collins Herndon. He is survived by his loving wife of many years, Mrs. Mary Jane Mabes Herndon.

Kenneth was of the Christian Faith and a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church. He worked for many years as an inspector for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He had a special love for music, playing the guitar, and especially singing in the senior choir.

In addition to his wife and Mother, Kenneth is survived by two sons; Adam Herndon and Eric Herndon; a brother; Steven Herndon and wife Susan; his grandson; Ezra Abraham Herndon; and his two loving dogs; Gypsy and K-Bear.

In addition to his Father, Kenneth was predeceased by a brother; Frank Herndon.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday December 27, 2024 at 11:00am at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA officiated by Pastor Steve Chromy. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of his Mother, Mrs. Barbara Coleman Herndon.
