Kenneth Edward Hensley

Kenneth Edward Hensley, born April 5, 1939, of 145 Hensley Farm Rd., Evington (the same farm where he was born and raised), passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022.  He was a graduate of New London Academy and attended Business College. Kenneth was General Manager of Newport News Operations in Hotel Management for 20 years and Pastor of Fellowship Church; Vice President of World Missions Fellowship and a member of both State and Federal Foster Parent Associations.  He enjoyed helping others, farming, reading, music and all church related activities.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Herbert, Shirley, Curtis, Ray and JT; his sisters Lois Goodman, Elsie Boley, Virginia Gay and Penny Hensley.

Surviving is his wife, Mary; daughter Tina McCurry and husband Jeff; two grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Agnes Anderson & Christine Burley; a special nephew, son of Robert & Martha H. Hensley, Sammy Hensley;  numerous nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Updike Funeral Chapel, Huddleston with Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow in Vaughn-Hensley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday, May 29, 2022,  from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
