Kenneth Eugene Bare

Kenneth Eugene Bare, 84, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 9, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Winifred “Wint” Bare and Ersie Watkins; and sisters, Mary “Lou” Seymore and Peggy Buckles.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bare; son, Tim Bare; daughter, Kimberly Wallace (Terry); sisters, Margaret Surber, Edith Bramlett, and Reba Martin (Dave); and brothers, Ralph Watkins and Ronald Watkins.

He was a huge UVA sports fan and an avid fisherman (with his best friend, Tip Ayers, at Smith Mountain Lake). He also followed the Cincinnati Reds, Washington Redskins, and loved NASCAR, especially Junior Johnson.

A Chapel Service will be held at Simpson Funeral Home (5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019) at 1:00pm on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, with Pastor Scott Hamilton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 12:00-1:00pm. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
