Kermit Lee Noel
On August 21, 2024, in the early morning; God came to claim Kermit Lee Noel Sr.
Kermit was born September 6, 1953, to the late Charlie Lee Noel and Essie Wade Noel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Josephine Noel and brother, Charles D. Noel.
Kermit attended Antioch Baptist Church as a child and moved his membership to Franklin Heights Baptist Church later in his adult life. He was a quiet man that knew the Lord.
Kermit grew up in Rocky Mount, Virginia at his grandparent’s Betty Ann Wade and Johnny Lewis Wade’s home place. He attended Lee M. Waid Public School and retired from Lane Furniture Inc. in Rocky Mount. Kermit loved cars, motorcycles and anything else that was fast. Kermit also spent a lot of time with his special friend of 30 plus years, Elizabeth Brooks. Together they loved to ride throughout Franklin County and take in the scenery. Kermit was a quiet man but loved to dance and have a good time anytime he was able to especially at his children’s weddings and friend’s cookouts.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sister, Doris E. Gray (Edward L. Gray deceased); brother, Donald W. Noel (Marie Noel deceased); special friend, Elizabeth Brooks; daughters, Cherie Burwell, LaToya Noel; sons, Boris (Sharon) Burwell, Boyd Burwell (Karen), Lamar (Danika) Noel, Kermit (Patricia) Noel; a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery (Ruritan Road). His family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
