Kevin Franklin Simmons

Mr. Kevin Franklin Simmons, age 53, of Ararat, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, with his loving family by his side. Mr. Simmons was born in Surry County, on March 17, 1972, to Terry Simmons and Joyce Holyfield Simmons. He was an avid outdoorsman, he could be found on the waters, riding his motorcycle, playing with RC cars and planes, or playing the guitar. Most importantly, he was a family man, having a strong faith in God. Mr. Simmons was a loving husband, father, son and Pa, he’ll be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mr. Simmons is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Shannon Atkins Simmons; daughters and son-in-law, Anna Lowe and Caleb, Emma Simmons; grandchildren, Clara Lowe and Callum Lowe; parents, Terry Simmons and Joyce Simmons; brothers and sisters-in-law, Scott Simmons and Lisa, Brad Simmons and Shannon; several nephews, a niece and many cousins. A celebration of Mr. Simmons life will be held Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 4:00 PM at Little Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Grant Atkins officiating. A burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Little Mountain Baptist Church from 2:30 until time of the service. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice PO Box 325, Dobson, North Carolina, 27017. Moodys of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Simmons family.
