KEVIN LEE DENT, 53, of Bastian, VA, entered his eternal home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. 
He was a loving dad to his two children and a dedicated husband, brother and friend. Many of his friends over the years have become his family as well.
He is preceded in death by his parents Walter Lee Dent and Margaret Ann Dent Fisher, a father and mother-in-law Trandal and Carolyn Strange, and several other family members. 
For over 10 years he had been a custodian of Bland County Public Schools. He loved being Head Custodian and took pride in ensuring everyday was ready for students and staff. His roll as a dad; his kids came first, then his wife and what time was left in the day was playing cornhole until dark.
He was an avid NASCAR fan. His favorite track was Martinsville where him and his daughter Callie attended regularly since she was 10 years old. His favorite part was the Famous Martinsville hotdogs. 
Left to cherish his memories are his wife Selina Dent, daughter Callie Dent, son Christian Dent, and special pet companions Dega and Lulu all of the home; two brothers Samuel Dent of Bland and Brian Dent and Ariana Hall of Austinsville; a sister Michelle and Robert Albert of Fort Chiswell; a brother and sister-in-law Steve and Emilee Strange of Warsaw Ohio, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive. Special friends that has became a brother and sister are R.D. and Rhonda French. 
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Bland County High School. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family receive friends at the school from 12:00 P.M. until service time, 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Kevin’s honor to the Bland County High School Athletic Dept., 361 Bears Trail, Bastian, VA 24314.
