Kevin Nida

Mr. Kevin Scott "Scotty" Nida, Jr., age 37, of Lewisburg, WV as well as Covington, VA, died Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his residence.
Mr. Nida was born December 31, 1988 in Charlottesville, VA , the son of Tracey Mills Paxton and Kevin Scott Nida, Sr. He was a longtime resident of Alleghany County. After graduating from Alleghany High School, Scotty served in the Army National Guard and was deployed to Iraq. Upon completing his military service, he lived in Las Vegas, NV for a number of years before returning to this area. He attended Redemption Center Church in White Sulphur Springs, WV.
Scotty had a huge heart and loved everyone regardless of where you came from or who you were, he wanted to be your friend. He was always looking for an adventure, loved the outdoors, camping and music festivals.
Scotty is survived by his mom, Tracey Mills Paxton and husband, Bill; his father, Kevin Scott Nida, Sr.; his grandmother, Betty Nida and his brother, Joshua Floyd Paxton. Scotty had a large extended family that included three sisters, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews as well as his extra mom, Christy May Taylor.
Scotty was preceded in death by his grandmother, Naomi Mills O'Conner and his grandfather, Leonard Ray Nida, Sr.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 P.M. Friday, April 18, 2025 from the chapel of Loving Funeral Home with Rev. Garrett Bostic officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at Loving Funeral Home.
