Kevin W. Hicks

Kevin Wayne Hicks, 54, of Salem passed away on April 30, 2025.

Kevin was a Deputy Sheriff for 23 years. He was a devoted Washington Commanders fan. He enjoyed Nascar, Karaoke, and spending time with family and friends.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Hughes; and stepfather, David Hughes.

Those left to cherish his memory are his dad, James “Jim” Hicks; son, Brendan Hicks; his dog, Benson; brother, Brian Hicks and wife Jami; sister, Tara Hicks and boyfriend Chris Tyler; dear friends, Libby Wilson and Katina Eckles; nephews, Caleb and Alex Hicks and JD Hughes; nieces, Tatum and Langley Hicks and Maddie Tyler; and countless others whose lives were touched by his compassion and his ability to make people laugh so hard they couldn’t catch their breath.

A celebration of life will be held at the Elks Lodge 197, 1147 Persinger Rd SW, Roanoke, VA 24015 on Sunday, May 18, 2025 from 1:00 until 4:00 pm.
