Kevin Wickham
Arthur Kevin Wickham, 74, of Penhook, Virginia, passed away on April 5, 2026.Kevin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Gentry Wickham; his beloved son, Hunter Wickham (Ashley M. Wickham) and his cherished grandchildren, Makenna and Sophia Wickham, who brought him great joy. He is also survived by his brother, Mark Wickham (Tammy); his sister, Lori Wickham (Jack Debes); his sister-in- Debbie Gentry McCulloch (Thad); his nieces and nephews, Colin Smith, Ashley McCulloch Zimmerman, Ashley N. Wickham, and Ryan Nolan; and many aunts, cousins and friends.He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Alvin Wickham; his mother, Juanita Dunford Wickham; and his sisters, Maria Wickham and Delma “Punkin” Wickham-Smith.Kevin proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His service was marked by courage and dedication, earning him the Air Medal for Meritorious Achievement While Participating in Aerial Flight and the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service.Following his military service, Kevin built a career as a design engineer, where his skill, work ethic, and attention to detail were well respected.Outside of work, Kevin found his greatest peace and happiness on Smith Mountain Lake, where he loved boating and spending time on the water. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snow skiing, hobbies that reflected his love of the outdoors and simple pleasures of life.Kevin will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for his family, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.The family would like to thank the Salem Veterans Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and support.in lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans or a favorite charity in Kevin’s honor.A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.“He will wipe every tear from their eyes.
