Larry Dean Webber
Larry Dean Webber, 70, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024. He was born in Danville, VA to the late Juanita Walker Webber Abbott and the late Paul Webber.
Larry was of the Christian faith and attended Shermont Baptist Church. In years past, Larry was a musician and a vocalist. He loved to play the piano, his bass guitar, singing the songs of Elvis Presley, and on occasion performed as Elvis for family and friends. He also competed in ballroom dancing. He was a dedicated member of New Song Community Choir. Larry was a man of deep Christian faith, he was beloved by his family and friends. He was kind, compassionate, and always ready to help others. He will be deeply missed.
Larry is survived by three sisters; Paulette Bennett (Walter) of Danville, VA, Donna Jillson (Joe) of Ball Ground, GA, and Sue Webber Wilkerson of Danville, VA. He is also survived by three nieces; Sherri Barnes (Noel) of Atlanta, GA; Bree Nichol (Josh) of Freehome, GA, and Mandy Zellmer (Joseph) of Liberty, NC, four nephews; Chris Slaughter of Martinsville, VA, Blake DuVernay (Shanta) of Bassett, VA; Michael Bennett (Stephanie) of Blairs, VA, and Brian Bennett (Julie) of Chatham, VA; and 12 great nephews and four great nieces. The family would like to extend a special thanks to his loving caregiver, Loretta Mayhew.
In addition to his Mother and Father, Larry was predeceased by a nephew, Joey Bennett.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2024 at 2:00pm at Shermont Baptist Church, 781 Mt. Cross Road, Danville, VA with pastor Ryan Riley officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2024 from 6-7:30pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. The family will receive friends at other times at the residence of his sister, Mrs. Paulette Bennett.
